Te Puke - Kiwi Fruit Capital

For the Month of July and a week of August ive been staying in a small town outside the small city of Tauranga. Te Puke is the kiwi fruit capital of the world. Its the where most of the kiwi fruit is grown and all that kinda jazz. Because i've only got 5 weeks untill im leaving back to ireland i reckoned that my best bet was to go to Te Puke and see what orchard work was like.

Im living in a hostel with around 20 people. Its called "The Lodge" and is just 10 min walk out of town. Its a great hostel with a very homely away from home feel. Because all of the guests here are working and not just here for the sites. So there's a great feel around the place with everyone in similar postitions trying to get some money together.
Im in an 8 bedroom dorm with just 3 other people. Lucitio from Brazil, Rodgrio from Chile & Daniel from Chile aswell. These guys are a great laugh Daniel is a heavy metal singer from chile who snores like a mad chap, Lucitio is a young Brazilian footballer and Rodrigo just rocks. Rodgrio & lucio are both learning English so we've had fun sitting down and practicing with eachother so thats been great. Then there is Jakob from Germany who i drive to work with everyday and plenty of others floating about
